Continuing to set new standards of professionalism, 80 remodeling companies from across the United States were named winners at the 2017 Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
The project scope submitted by Case Design/Remodeling involved the addition of a large front porch to transform the 1970’s split-level home into a more classic transitional. Bluestone pavers, a custom arched mahogany door, beaded paneling on the barrel vaulted ceiling, a copper gas lantern and authentic louvered shutters with iron hinges and shutter dogs add to the grander look. The cream painted brick with dark grey shutters that coordinate with the new flagstone walk add to the refreshed curb appeal.
“This was the first year they have entered the awards, and to take home top honors on the first attempt is impressive,” says Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards.
This project is also the recipient of two Contractor of the Year Awards (CotY) from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). It won best Residential Exterior between $100,000-$200,000 in the local NARI Charlotte Chapter, as well as for the South East Region.
The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in fifteen general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. The Chrysalis Awards are open to every professional remodeler and design professional in the United States.
